First Ever Appearance

The following comic is the first ever appearance of Crow-Man. I suppose a bit of back story might help.

The seed that would eventually grow into this project was planted years ago. The story starts with an internet friend I had at the time, who went by the username Peveus. This strange Australian man “ran” a webcomic, and I use the word “ran” loosely … but I’ll get into that in a later article. Eventually, we become friends, and he decided I was worthy of writing comics, and of having a character loosely based on me.

Peveus’ webcomic, Terminal Crossing, was nothing special, honestly. It was really more of a fun little project to poke away at, and sometimes make the few readers we had laugh. Simplistic graphics, typical “guys playing video games” premise, and a few characters that I wouldn’t exactly call, “NOT annoying.” None of the really funny comics ever came from Peveus himself, but instead from the other two guys working on it, Joe and Jacob. Still, I was happy to be a part of it, and proudly put together some almost-funny comics.

A while later, I got my hands on a copy of City of Heroes, a super hero themed MMORPG. For a solid two weeks, I was hopelessly addicted to this fantasy world, so when the time came for me to make a comic, I opted to draw myself in a costume vaguely resembling my CoH character, and come up with some last minute “joke” to fit it into. This comic was the result, and the first ever appearance of Crow-Man. As you can see, his appearance has drastically changed over the years. Eventually, though, this almost-funny comic would spark a series of events that would eventually lead to the Crow-Man podcast audio adventure of awesome.

Side note, I have always went by the name “Crowster” online, which is where both the name Crowster Corvus, and the name Crow-Man came from.
